💬 Find out first hand what it's like to be a Fire & Rescue volunteer from the Gingin and Lancelin VFRS'. They'll also be there to provide you with handy information for staying safe on the road and activities for the kids.

🔥 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗶𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗻 - 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟰 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

⚠️ The Shire of Gingin and local volunteer bush fire brigades will be conducting prescribed fuel reduction burns along Nilgen Rd, Nilgen from 10:00am - 6:00pm on Monday, 4 May 2026.

In an effort to ensure our volunteer firefighters safety, the Shire will be closing Nilgen Rd from Bottlebrush Drive to the North and KW Rd to the South during this period. Local access will be managed when safe to do so.

🚒 Whilst some inconvenience can be expected due to the associated smoke, the protection of our community from the threat of bushfire is essential.

The prescribed burn will be conducted under a mild East South-Easterly breeze and it is anticipated that there will be minimal impact to surrounding roads. Travellers are reminded to remain alert and drive to the conditions.

💨 If you have any concerns relating to effects of smoke, it is recommended you keep windows closed and remain indoors for the duration of this period.

We are expanding our team of dedicated Bush Fire Brigade Volunteers across the eight brigades in the Shire of Gingin: Beermullah, Cowalla, Gingin South, Gingin West, Guilderton, Ledge Point, Ocean Farm and Red Gully.

💛 Our volunteers provide vital support to the Shire - protecting and promoting community safety.

Being a volunteer is an incredibly rewarding experience that provides everyone, regardless of age or background, with the opportunity to give something back to their local community.
