Children are at the heart of everything we do. At QEC, we believe every child deserves the best start in life. But that’s only the beginning.

That’s why we’ve been partnering with families in Victoria for over 100 years – and are proud to be Victoria’s largest provider of early parenting services. We support families with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday, delivering specialised services, guidance and education. Every family and child is different, so our approach is tailored to you. From residential, day-visit, and telehealth programs, we’ll help you find the right support at every stage. All our programs are delivered by our specialised team, made up of Registered/Enrolled Nurses, Early Parenting Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals, Social Workers, Maternal and Child Health Nurses, Mental Health Clinicians, Midwives, Psychologists, Art Therapists and General Practitioners. Parents and carers often tell us how rewarding it is to see their children’s personalities shine through during their time with us at QEC. At QEC we get to enjoy the rewards of seeing parents become more capable and bring joy back into their parenting relationships. It’s all about building confident, healthy, sustainable routines, habits, communities and families that enable children to thrive.

We welcome the inaugural Board of Kinhaven, the new organisation that will bring QEC and Tweddle together from 1 April 2027.

Bringing together directors from both organisations, the inaugural Board combines valuable experience, expertise and organisational knowledge to guide the establishment of Kinhaven and help strengthen Victoria’s early parenting sector.

QEC Board Chair Nicole Batagol and Tweddle Board Chair Annette Mercuri have acknowledged the dedication and leadership of directors from both organisations, whose shared focus has been on achieving the best outcomes for babies, children and families while preserving the strengths of QEC and Tweddle.

The current QEC and Tweddle Boards will continue to govern their respective organisations until the merger takes effect on 1 April 2027.

This is another important milestone as we work towards a shared future, building on more than 200 years of combined experience supporting Victorian families.

QEC and Tweddle will merge to become Kinhaven

The voluntary merger of QEC and Tweddle has been approved and from 1 April 2027 our two organisations will become one - Kinhaven.

For more than a century QEC and Tweddle have each supported Victorian families through the early years., By coming together, we can build on our strengths, experience and shared values to make it easier for families to find and access specialist early parenting support, continue providing high-quality care and help strengthen the early parenting sector.

The name Kinhaven brings together two important ideas. Kin meaning family, connection and belonging and haven, meaning safety and support. It reflects what we want every baby, child and family to experience when they come to us - a place of connection, care and support.

For families, nothing changes right now. QEC and Tweddle will continue to operate independently until 1 April 2027. Services will continue as usual and families will continue to receive care at the same locations from the teams they know and trust.

We look forward to sharing more about Kinhaven and the journey ahead over the coming months.

🔴 Red Nose Day is about much more than wearing a red nose. It helps fund vital research, safe sleep education and support for families who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby or child.

At QEC, we know that sleep can be one of the biggest challenges of early parenting. Supporting families with practical, evidence-based information about sleep and safe sleep practices is an important part of what we do.

We want every parent to feel informed, supported and confident as they care for their baby, including when it comes to creating a safe sleep environment.

So while our red noses might bring a smile today, we're proud to support a cause that is helping save little lives and support families when they need it most. ❤️
