Outstanding Achievement – SHAPE 2026 HSC Nominations!

We are incredibly proud and excited to congratulate our Year 12 Industrial Technology Timber and Multimedia students Maddie and Arthur on their outstanding achievement in receiving nominations for SHAPE 2026.

This prestigious recognition celebrates the exceptional creativity, innovation, technical expertise and dedication demonstrated throughout the development of their HSC Major Projects. To be nominated for SHAPE is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to the countless hours of planning, designing, problem-solving and craftsmanship invested in bringing their ideas to life.

SHAPE is an annual HSC showcase celebrating outstanding student work from Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, and Textiles and Design across NSW. It provides an exciting opportunity to recognise the remarkable talents of emerging young designers and makers.

SHAPE 2026 will be delivered in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), with the exhibition hosted in the foyer of the iconic UTS Tower, Building 1, UTS Main Campus, 1/15 Broadway, Ultimo, in March 2027.

We also extend our congratulations to the dedicated TAS teachers who have supported, encouraged and guided these students throughout their HSC journey. Their expertise and commitment have played an important role in helping students achieve such an exceptional standard of work.

Congratulations once ag*in to Maddie and Arthur! Your nominations are a wonderful achievement and a proud moment for our entire school community. We look forward to celebrating your success and seeing your talents recognised on a much larger stage!

🏐🥏 Year 7 Gala Day
Our Year 7 students enjoyed a successful Gala Day in Week 9, competing ag*inst schools from across the zone. Frisbee Team 1 won an impressive four out of five games, while Frisbee Team 2 had a great time playing. Our netball teams also enjoyed a fun and successful day, with several wins and draws.
Well done to all our students for their effort, teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the day! 👏

The HSC: Not just exams, performances and art works.

HSC Examinations and just around the corner, but final year projects have already been submitted. HSC research projects are completed by thousands of HSC students in subjects like Society and Culture and Extension History each year. These projects encourage students to deeply engage with topics of history and culture, and require final year HSC students to explore their curiosity and challenge themselves academically.

Ku-ring-g*i High School students Bodhi and Arthur have just completed their projects into the adaptation of Japanese art and story telling into Western entertainment industries, and what this means to both distinctive cultures for the future. Fueled by personal interests in Anime and story telling, both students explored the complexities of changing cultural 'norms', popular entertainment media services, and emerging new art forms and cultural transmissions.

History student Oliver chose to focus his research on the 'construction' of historical narratives of Central Africa. Focussing on Colonial and Neo-Colonial Congo, Oliver concluded that history itself is often an ideologically driven construct with significant consequences that lead well beyond the histories they create.

Each project is thoroughly researched over countless hours and is testament to each student's commitment, diligence and passion. Above all else there is a curiosity to know more and explore answers to the questions of 'why?' and 'what next?' The exams may be a month away, but some very hard work has already been submitted. Well done, and congratulations to all.
