Next week is Get Online Week and events are being delivered across Gilmore to help people learn how to access essential services, spot scams and participate more fully in modern life.

Shoalhaven Heads Public School came to Parliament House today and it was great to meet the students between divisions, committee meetings and sittings in the house.
The students had some really good questions and were very excited about their tour.
It’s always great to have local schools visiting to learn about how our parliament works, the role of local MPs and the important decisions that are made here. And how good is the Lego model of APH!!!

Amazing! Good luck and have fun!!! 🤩 https://www.facebook.com/share/1JDp9ygPtP/?mibextid=wwXIfr

It was great to meet with local Cullunghutti Aboriginal Early Years Service CEO Tara Leslie as well as Mandy Taylor and Simon Fewings from SNAICC - the national peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and to talk about the importance of providing a safe and caring space for First Nations children to begin their learning while remaining connected to family, community, culture and Country.
Every child deserves a solid foundation in life, and SNAICC advocates for, supports and contributes to the development of early childhood programs and systems that are designed, governed and delivered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
In the Shoalhaven, the Cullunghutti Aboriginal Early Years Service is an amazing community-led space that provides a nurturing and holistic service for local Indigenous children and their families.

👏👏 Great feedback about the Batemans Bay Medicare Urgent Care Clinic from Kerry, a retired health care professional...

"On a recent visit to Batemans Bay I required medical attention on a Saturday afternoon and again on the Sunday, I was thinking I would have to attend A&E, fortunately there was an Urgent Care Clinic.
All the staff from the receptionists, triage nurses, practice nurse through to the doctors were fabulous - professional, knowledgeable, caring and considerate. The care I received was faultless and included treating my immediate problem, taking preventive measures to avoid potential complications and providing follow-up care.
As a retired healthcare professional it was a pleasure to see first-hand the positive impact Urgent Care Clinics are having for both the public and successfully diverting activity to appropriate care settings.
Congratulations to you and your government for funding Urgent Care Centres." - Kerry

🎉 A huge day of festivities planned for Saturday October 17 at the Tomerong Hall Centenary Celebration.
From midday, come and join the celebrations with art, live music, dancing, food and family fun.
There will be ‘In Conversation’ chats with locals, unveiling of major art works, audiovisual displays and an oral history project capturing local stories past and present.
The fun continues with poetry readings and cutting of the birthday cake!
Thanks to the organisers for pulling together a fabulous event for the community, which I’m proud to support with some federal funding.
Hope to see you there!!!

This year more Aussies have started a uni degree than ever before.
That’s more people training to be doctors, nurses, midwives and psychologists to fill places in our hospitals and clinics, including right here in Gilmore.
And it’s just the start, because today the Parliament passed legislation that will open the doors of our universities even wider 👏
