Carers and Disability Link (CADL) warmly invites our members, clients, Carers and community to attend our 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

📍 Vine Inn Bistro Function Rooms ,14–22 Murray Street, Nuriootpa

Following the AGM, we’re pleased to welcome Sharon Tentye, Head of Partnership and Integration at Carers SA, who will speak about the Carer Gateway and the partnership between Carers SA and CADL.

🍽️ Stay for lunch! A lunch will be provided for those who would like to stay following the presentation.

Not all disabilities are visible. 💙

This Invisible Disabilities Week lets recognise people living with invisible disabilities and the experiences, challenges and strengths they bring to our communities.

For someone living with an invisible disability, everyday activities can take considerable energy and effort, even when they appear to be managing just fine. You may not see the challenges someone is facing, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

💙 How can we make a difference?
✨ Be kind, patient and understanding.
✨ Listen without judgement and respect people's experiences.
✨ Avoid making assumptions about someone's abilities or support needs.
✨ Remember that not every disability is visible, and not every person experiences disability in the same way.

Carers and Disability Link, believe everyone deserves to feel understood and respected. By building awareness, challenging assumptions and showing compassion, we can help create a more inclusive community for everyone.

You can't always see a disability, but you can always show understanding. 💙

💙 NATIONAL CARERS WEEK 💙

This National Carers Week, we’re celebrating and recognising the incredible contribution of unpaid Carers across our communities.

Every day, Carers provide support, encouragement, companionship and practical care to family members, friends and loved ones. Their role can be rewarding, challenging, joyful and exhausting — often all at once.

At Carers and Disability Link (CADL), we see the difference Carers make every day, and we’re proud to support Carers across regional South Australia.

Whether you’re a full-time Carer, balancing caring with work or study, a young Carer, or supporting someone while navigating your own responsibilities — you are not alone.

This week, we say thank you to all Carers for the vital role you play in the lives of the people you care for and in our wider communities. 💙

Are you passionate about your community and interested in helping shape the future of Carers and Disability Link?

We are seeking expressions of interest from passionate, committed and community-minded people who would like to volunteer their skills, experience and perspective to contribute to the governance and future direction of CADL.

We are particularly interested in people with skills and experience in:
⚖️ Legal
💰 Finance
🩺 Health & Service Specialities
🌏 Equal Opportunity & Diversity
📣 Marketing
👥 Human Resources
💻 Information & Communication Technology

We also welcome people who bring professional expertise, community knowledge, lived experience or another perspective that can contribute to strong, inclusive and effective governance.

📌 Term: 2 years, with opportunity to renominate
📌 Time commitment: Monthly Board meetings, with optional sub-committee involvement
📌 Location: CADL offices are located in Nuriootpa, Woodside, Kadina and Clare

Flexible attendance: Board meetings can be attended in person or online.

Board members must be a member of CADL. Membership applications can be completed via the CADL website.

Carers and Disability Link (CADL) is looking for a dedicated Program Support Officer to join our team and support Carers across the Barossa Valley region.

🗓️ Permanent Part Time | 4 days per week, Fixed Term Contract until 30th June 2027

📍 Based in CADL’s Nuriootpa office

In this rewarding role, you'll help connect Carers with community resources, support groups, events and services, while helping to increase awareness and recognition of the vital role Carers play in our communities.

Today is a gentle reminder that a simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

Life can feel busy, challenging or overwhelming at times, and sometimes we don’t know what someone else might be carrying. Taking a moment to genuinely ask “R U OK?” can let someone know they’re seen, heard and not alone.

To all our Carers, clients, volunteers, staff and community members, remember to check in with the people around you, make time for connection, and most importantly, remember that it’s OK to ask for support when you need it too. 💛

You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply listening and being there is enough.

Today, and every day, let’s look out for one another. 💛
