There's more hot weather headed our way 🥵

Hot weather and heatwaves can be serious and cause heat-related illness, especially for people at higher risk such as older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and people with medical conditions.

During the hot weather:
✅ Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
✅ Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
✅ If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool
✅ Drink plenty of water

❌ Never leave kids or pets in the car

🌳 We're excited to share that we've received a Healthy Cities Landcare Grant for our Connecting Habitat and Community in Brighton project!

Thanks to funding from Landcare Australia and Bupa, we'll be planting 3,350 native trees, shrubs and groundcovers at Seymour Street Park, creating greener spaces for both people and wildlife.

The project will also include innovative hydro-mulching and improved stormwater management to enhance biodiversity and help reduce urban heat.

🌱 Community planting days will run from May to August 2027, so stay tuned for details on how you can get involved.
