⛏️✨ Strike gold in the Orange Region! ✨⛏️

Gold Panning Kits are now available to hire from the Orange Visitor Information Centre, making it easy to experience the thrill of searching for gold at historic locations like Ophir Reserve.

Perfect for families, school holiday adventures and aspiring prospectors, each kit is available for $35 per 24-hour hire period. A $50 bond is also required and will be fully refunded when the kit is returned.

⚠️ Ophir Reserve Access Restrictions

Please be aware that access to Ophir Reserve (Lower Lewis Ponds Road, Ophir) will be restricted from 7 September to 11 September 2026 for pest animal control operations.

✅ Transit through the reserve on the main road is permitted. ✅ Visitors must remain on the main road at all times.

❌ Stopping, parking, camping, or entering other areas of the reserve is prohibited. ❌ Access away from the main road is restricted to authorised personnel only.

For your safety, please avoid unnecessary travel through the reserve during this period.
