Thinking about buying an electric fat bike?

Fat bikes are easy to spot thanks to their extra-wide tyres, but don't assume every electric fat bike is a legal e-bike.

Some models are capable of speeds and power levels that place them in the motorcycle category.

If that's the case, riders need:

โœ… Registration
โœ… A motorcycle licence or learner permit
โœ… To be 18+

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses after a man was struck by a car and left with life-threatening injuries in Cardinia Wednesday night.

It's believed a white Jeep Compass was travelling east along Ballarto Road when it lost control and struck a pedestrian, near the intersection of Dalmore Road, about 6pm.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Tooradin man, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The learner driver of the Jeep, a 36-year-old Cranbourne North woman, and her three passengers aged 5, 8 and 10 were not injured.

The woman was arrested, interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

As part of the investigation and following an appeal by investigators on Thursday - detectives have now identified the driver of a silver vehicle โ€“ which was seen in the vicinity moments prior to the collision.

The investigation however continues into the circumstances surrounding the collision with detectives appealing for motorists or witnesses in the area at the time, to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

On the 14th of October 2026, at 5:11am, members from Koo Wee Rup detected a Suzuki Swift doing 119 in a 100km/h zone.

When police activated their lights, the Suzuki pulled over and the 33-year-old male driver exited the vehicle (please don't do this). He then walked to the back of the car where he told police he wasn't driving, he was just waiting for a mate.

Enquiries revealed the male had a suspended licence. The driver was interviewed and will be attending court later in the year to answer the charges... keep reading.

On the 16th of October 2026, AGAIN AT 5:11am, the same police member overserved the same Suzuki Swift on the same road.
The driver was again interviewed for driving with a suspended licence and will be facing an additional charge.

Police impounded the Suzuki Swift for 30 days, with a cost of $1304 to the owner... police will be patrolling this location at 5:11am in 30 days, just in case he hasn't learnt his lesson.
