In Central Australia, we are so proud to celebrate our wonderful Family Day Care educator, Dia!

Dia joined Kentish at the beginning of this year and has truly embraced the values of Family Day Care, creating a nurturing environment for children and families in her care.

Recently, Dia was recognised with a Regional Family Day Care Australia Award an incredible achievement in such a short time!

To celebrate this special milestone, her coordinator, Niu, visited Dia and presented her with a beautiful bunch of flowers. Dia’s support person, Mark, was also there to share in the celebration and capture a special photo.

Dia, we are so proud of you and everything you have achieved in such a short time with Kentish.

Congratulations, Dia!

Professional development is strongly encouraged at Kentish, and last week we were proud to have delegates from across our services attend the ECA National Conference in Melbourne.

What an inspiring few days of learning, reflection and connection, centred around the theme “Holding the Past, Creating the Future.

The conference explored a range of important topics, including the use of data and images, ethics and the use of AI, inclusion, and how we can continue to challenge and reflect on our practice.

We heard from Olaf Granstrom share his session on how we can update our personal worldviews and move beyond misconceptions presented through the media, providing early childhood educators with practical tools to help children understand the world around them.

It was wonderful to hear from Clair Warden about slow pedagogy and the importance of slowing down, listening to children and allowing them to be at the centre of our programs. It was a great reminder that sometimes we need to pause, step back from our busy routines and be present with children, giving them the time and space to lead their own learning.

We were also incredibly proud to have our Early Childhood Team Leader and a PALM educator present alongside the Department of Foreign Affairs on Navigating the PALMS Scheme. Kentish has been proud to be part of the ECEC PALM Pilot, and it was fantastic to share our experiences and learnings with the sector.

Investing in our people and creating opportunities for professional learning helps us continue to grow, reflect and provide high-quality experiences for children, families and communities.

There’s something really special about the relationship between a Family Day Care Coordinator and their educators.

Last week, Charmaine delivered flowers to Vicki to celebrate her winning a Family Day Care Australia Regional Award. Vicki was completely in awe and so humbled by the recognition.

It’s moments like these that remind us that Family Day Care is about so much more than education and care. It’s about relationships, connection, celebrating achievements and being part of each other’s journeys.

Congratulations again, Vicki. So well deserved!
