Have you experienced underpayment, non-payment or challenges in the disability support services sector? Come along to one of our open forum events where you can have your say about workplace compliance in the sector.
We’ll soon be in Bunbury, Perth, Melbourne, Bendigo, Newcastle and Sydney.
Here’s the event info: http://www.fairwork.gov.au/disability-forums
We’re after your perspective on the needs of employers, employees and organisations in the sector, to hear what’s working and what needs improvement.
These events are about workplace relations experiences only, such as pay, entitlements and employment conditions (not provider compliance under the NDIS, or enquiries or complaints about specific workplace disputes).
If you’re unable to attend in person, you can still contribute to the Inquiry by email.

📘New guidance for specialist behaviour support providers
The NDIS Commission has released a practice guide on behaviour support assessment, including functional behaviour assessments (FBA).
The guide helps specialist behaviour support providers and NDIS practitioners to:
- Understand expectations under the NDIS Act and Rules
- Align assessment practice with quality standards
- Strengthen assessments to support better participant outcomes
High-quality assessments are the foundation of effective behaviour support strategies and help support the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices.

Respecting a participant's privacy doesn’t just include protecting their personal and confidential information, but also their boundaries.
Under the NDIS Code of Conduct, people who deliver NDIS supports and services must respect the privacy of people with disability.
If you’re a provider or support worker it’s important to consider a participant's choices, cultural identity and personal privacy needs.
