Yesterday, we came together for our annual National Reconciliation Week Breakfast, joined by our Elders, Councillors and City staff ๐ค๐โค๏ธ
A special thank you to Jodie and Uncle Nigel Wilkes for your heartfelt Welcome to Country and for opening up a space for important conversations around reconciliation and walking together in partnership. We were incredibly lucky to have Mungart Yongah share their culture and spirit with us through powerful traditional dances, including the kangaroo, emu and swan.
Thank you also to Mayor Ruth Butterfield - City of Armadale for your meaningful words, reminding us that reconciliation cannot sit on the sidelines of our lives or our organisations. It requires participation, effort, and asks each of us to consider the role we play in building understanding, respect and stronger relationships within our community.
National Reconciliation Week is a time to reflect, listen and continue the ongoing journey towards reconciliation together.
A special thanks to Coleโs North Armadale for supporting this event.
