Freezer's and Cool rooms 4 deg C or less require a sprinkler called a Dry Drop or Dry Barrel Sprinkler.
This type of Sprinkler doesn't allow the water to enter the pipe until there bulb (element) pops. If we used standard sprinklers the water would freeze in the pipe behind the sprinkler.
Often in supermarkets in the back of house area they put there chillers and freezers under the mezzanine (usually offices/lunch room on top) to utilise space.
Often they will design it so that the refrigeration panel is hard too or as close to the slab above as possible.
If Sidewall dry drops cant be used, the ceiling panel needs to be dropped to allow for the installation of the dry drop sprinkler.

Spotting these little issues early on in the design development stage is this key. There is no point waiting for the contractor to tell them as they are going to construction that it is not going to work.

Explaining to architects about the 1m clearance required in a fire stair becomes very repetitive. A drawing/picture is worth a 1000 words.
