Happy 110th birthday to Anzac Cottage - the house built in one day to honour a returned soldier, Private John Porter. So lovely to join the Friends of Anzac Cottage, representatives from The Natonal Trust and His Excellency Governor Dawson and Mrs Dawson at the celebrations. πŸŽ‚

The City of Vincent is heartbroken at the loss of life following the terrorist attack in Bondi.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and everyone affected.

A fabulous day welcoming so many families to Hyde Park for the Rainbow Picnic! 🌈 Highlights include the very important and stressful job of judging the dog show with ! So many cute doggos, it was super hard to choose the winners! 🐢 Such a fun and welcoming event as part of our Pride Month celebrations. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

The Poppy project has been installed at the administration building ready for Remembrance Day, a beautiful display of handmade poppies, made by members of our community. A Remembrance Day service will be held in partnership with the Mt Hawthorn RSL on Tuesday 11 November at 10.45 - 11.30am in Axford Park, Mt Hawthorn.

Update on Angove St petrol station application - preliminary SAT hearing.

Proposed Angove St petrol station.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MATTER IS STILL BEFORE THE COURTS SO MY COMMENTS WILL BE LIMITED
As we know, the Council has been consistently opposed to the proposal by OTR to re-establish a petrol station on Angove St. This position by Council has not changed.
Unfortunately the SAT did not uphold the argument about a lack of continuous usage on the site. But fortunately the SAT did accept the City’s assertion that any development on the site would require a DA. Importantly, before people get too distressed, please note that this is only one step in the process and only deals with the preliminary legal issues.
Council maintains there are many reasons why the proposed development(s) are unacceptable, including health and amenity impacts and a built form contrary to the vision for the area. We continue to work through the legal processes and will keep the community updated via the Imagine Vincent website. You may want to let OTR know how you are feeling about things with your socks.
