International Women’s Day 💝 We celebrate our incredible team of passionate, caring, strong and purpose-driven keepers and educators, who keep the West Oz world spinning. Thankyou for all your hard work, whether it’s in the classroom, in the enclosures, or out in the bush (usually all on the same day) 🌿 We are so lucky to have such inspirational women to be sharing our love for wildlife with the world 💚

During the school holidays, we spend a lot of time visiting early childhood care centres all across Perth. With modified sessions to suit all age groups, our smallest family members still get to learn whilst also engaging with our animals (sometimes for their first time ever)! 💚

With the recent negative portrayal of dingoes in mind, let us be reminded of the true importance of this species in Australia. Dingoes are highly intelligent, inquisitive, and naturally timid animals, who play a vital keystone role in Australia’s ecosystem. Without them, ecological balance is disrupted, placing other native Australian species at risk. Let us not demonise an apex predator out of fear, but instead learn to respect and understand them, and honour their place in this country 🐕
