🔥 PLAN SMART, BURN SMART 🔥

Did you know that a burn pile can continue to smoulder for several days after the flames are out? Hot spots can easily reignite and start a bushfire, especially if weather conditions change.

After conducting any burn, it is important to continue monitoring the area until you are completely confident it is fully extinguished.

If you’ve recently completed a burn its recommended you do the following handy tips with the weather warming up:

✅ Check your burn area several times a day
✅ Extinguish any remaining hot spots immediately
✅ Continue monitoring for at least 48 hours
✅ Be extra cautious if conditions become hotter, drier, or windier

Even a small amount of remaining heat can lead to a dangerous fire.

Please burn responsibly and help keep our community safe this season. 🚒
