This World Environment Day, we celebrating students leading the way in sustainability 🌳🌏

The Green Team at Joondalup Education Support Centre have been rolling up their sleeves and putting in the hard work to help keep their school clean and sustainable, while making a positive difference for their community and the planet.

From environmental initiatives to everyday actions that reduce waste and promote sustainability, these young environment champions are proving that small actions can make a big impact.

A standing ovation for an extraordinary career 🥹🫶

After more than 40 years of teaching, Mr Hanna from Mindarie Senior College taught his final class before being surprised with a guard of honour from students and colleagues.

From dreaming about space to becoming Australia’s first professional astronaut, 2026 Australian of the Year Katherine Bennell-Pegg inspired students to aim high and back themselves in STEAM 🚀✨

Speaking with primary and secondary students during a 3-day tour of Western Australia, Katherine shared her incredible journey, the challenges she overcame, and the importance of curiosity, resilience and believing in big dreams.

We think the next generation of Australian astronauts, engineers and scientists may just have been sitting in the audience. 🌏🛰️

This year’s featured book, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, is brought to life by Katelyn Smith, co-captain of the CommBank ParaMatildas and passionate community coach with the Football Futures Foundation.

14-year-old Gilmore College star Inkabee showed out at the Fremantle Dockers vs Saints game on Friday for Sir Doug Nicholls round, providing half-time entertainment as well as a deadly freestyle about the Walyalup Indigenous guernsey 💜
