Celebrate Easter with our Sand Covered Easter Egg Basket!
You will need coloured sand, foam eggs, PVA glue, sticky tape and a sheet of coloured A3 paper.
EGGS
🐣 STEP 1: To decorate your egg, paint a pattern with glue on the egg and roll it in the sand colour of your choice. What happens when you mix 2 different colours of sand together? Experiment with the colours of sand you can create.
🐣 STEP 2: If you want to make a pattern with 2 different colours of sand you will need to wait for one pattern to dry first. Then you can repeat step 1 with a different colour of sand.
🐣 STEP 3: Let the eggs dry and dust-off excess sand.
PAPER BASKET
🐣 STEP 4: Now we’ll make a basket for the eggs. Fold your paper into 9 even strips long ways and cut along the lines.
🐣 STEP 5: Connect 3 paper strips together with sticky tape at one end to make a square. This is the structure for one half of your basket.
🐣 STEP 6: Weave 3 new strips of paper over, under, and over your basket structure.
🐣 STEP 7: Repeat Step 6 for the other half of your basket.
🐣 STEP 8: Secure all the loose strips down with sticky tape and trim any excess lengths.
🐣 STEP 9: Fill your basket with your eggs and display
