When the body temperature is 38 degrees or higher, we are having a fever. This is one way how our body fights infection and has usually nothing to do with the illness that is triggering the fever in the first place.
Although usually mild, fevers are quite common in young children. They are mostly caused by viruses such as colds, and common infectious diseases of childhood. Alternatively fevers can also be triggered by bacterial infections that require treatment with antibiotics.

As winter is on its way and temperatures starting to drop, it is important to stay well and healthy.
While one can catch a cold or flu at any time, it is more likely to take place in one of our colder months (April to October). Thankfully there is plenty of things that we can do to boost our immunity such as eating nutritious food and staying active.
