From roads and waste collection to parks, libraries, community facilities and public spaces, these are the everyday services that support our community.

The City is proposing a 5.5 per cent rate increase for 2026/27, which for the average household is around $1.69 extra per week.

We know many households are feeling ongoing cost-of-living pressures. At the same time, the City is also experiencing rising costs driven by inflation and global factors, including fuel, construction materials, utilities and employee costs.

This is a State-required revaluation year, which affects how rates are calculated, meaning individual rates will vary depending on property value changes.

These adjustments help ensure we can continue delivering essential services and maintaining community infrastructure.

The proposed 2026/27 rates are open for feedback until June 18, 2026.

Getting ahead of storm season with tree maintenance 🌳

The City carries out a scheduled tree pruning and maintenance program to reduce hazards, enhance streetscapes, and support the long-term health of our urban canopy ahead of storm season.

Residents are encouraged to report trees on verges or in parks where there are safety concerns, including:
✔️ Unstable or overhanging branches
✔️ Storm damage
✔️ Trees obstructing roads, footpaths, or sightlines
✔️ Fallen branches creating a hazard.

Please note the City does not prune or remove trees for reasons such as excessive shade, leaf drop, allergies, perceived fire risk, or blocked views.
