An emergency care plan makes it easy for someone to take over from you in a hurry. It has all the information about the person you care for in one place, so you can get it quickly and easily.

The emergency care plan has:
✅ Emergency contacts
✅ The care needs of the person you care for
✅ Medical information and contacts
✅ A medicine list
✅ Carer emergency cards

You can use as many of these sections as you need – it’s up to you.

Congratulations to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA (DFES) on achieving Level 1 Activate accreditation Carer Friendly Employers.

This milestone showcases DFES’s commitment to supporting carers, with strong alignment to the Carer Recognition Act and integration into everyday practice. By promoting carers’ rights through its intranet, staff can easily access information and support.

It reflects a culture that values wellbeing, inclusion, and genuine support for carers, laying a strong foundation for continued growth in carer-friendly practices.
