The last schooner off the tap wins a limited-edition Beer Corner × Shelter jersey, inspired by a vintage ’70s German football kit.

DJ Mitchell J Benson takes over the corner from 6–10PM, with beef & rosemary pies, fries and currywurst loaded fries keeping the table fed.

Cathedral Square State Funeral | Tuesday, June 02 2026

A State Funeral for the Honourable Bill Grayden AM will be held at St George’s Cathedral on Tuesday, June 02. To support the formal proceedings, access throughout Cathedral Square will be restricted and valet parking will be unavailable during this time.

Access Restrictions:
- Cathedral Square will be closed to the public from 6am – 1pm, with no access for vehicles or pedestrians.
- Valet parking and vehicle drop-offs will be unavailable during this time.
- In-house guests with vehicles will be required to exit via Pier Street.

Guests with hotel stays, dining reservations or event bookings are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional time for arrival.

This winter, the Cape Arid Rooms take on a new after-dark rhythm.

Across selected June dates, Cape Arid After Dark transforms the rooms into a warm, candlelit setting, inviting guests to settle in for curated wine, food and conversation in one of the precinct’s most atmospheric spaces.

The season also welcomes a special one-night collaboration with Simon Johnson and Calendar Cheese Co, bringing together exceptional European cheeses and expertly paired wines for an intimate winter evening.

A refined way to gather, linger and discover something new as the city cools.

This June, Wellness Month invites a deeper pause at the State Buildings.

For the first time, Sound Bathing arrives as a premium floating experience in the pool, guiding guests through curated soundscapes and vibration therapy in a limited-capacity session designed for deep relaxation.

For those seeking a more immersive reset, the Solas June Reset Retreat brings together movement, meditation, nourishment and treatment over three days, offering space to step away from routine and reconnect.

Sound Bathing takes place on Sunday, 14 and 28 June.

CLONAKILLA WINE DINNER | STATE CELLARS

An evening with one of Australia’s most celebrated winemakers.

Join Tim Kirk of Canberra District’s renowned Clonakilla for an intimate dinner in the State Cellars Wine Room, celebrating one of Australia’s great wine stories through rare museum bottles, new releases and single-vineyard expressions.

The five-course menu will feature scallop, lobster, lamb and beef, thoughtfully paired with Clonakilla wines, including 2005 and 2025 Viognier, the 2018 and newly released 99-point rated 2024 Shiraz Viognier, two 2019 T&L single-vineyard wines, and a mystery wine revealed on the night.

A considered evening of food, wine and conversation in one of the city’s most intimate wine rooms.
