🚨Cyclone warning concerns spark call for urgent review
Serious concerns have been raised about WA’s cyclone warning system after communities across the North West were caught off guard during Tropical Cyclone Narelle.
Residents reported being left under prolonged “Watch and Act” warnings — despite conditions on the ground warranting stronger alerts. Confusion over when to evacuate, take shelter or close businesses can be a matter of life and death.
A community petition led by Pilbara residents and facilitated by Hon Julie Freeman MLC is calling on the Cook Labor Government to review the system so Western Australians know exactly when to act.

🚗 Increase the PATS fuel subsidy from 40c to $1 per kilometre
💳 Boost the pensioner fuel travel card from $775 to $1000
These are immediate practical measures the Cook Labor Government can implement now.
