The health of the River Murray matters to every South Australian, and as the state at the end of the system, we see the impact first when it falls short.

The Murray-Darling Basin Authority’s draft determination shows 315 gigalitres of water promised to the environment under the Basin Plan is still outstanding. That water is vital for the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth, and for the communities, irrigators, Traditional Owners and industries who depend on a healthy river.

I support Minister Emily Bourke MLC in calling on all Basin states to work together and deliver the water that was promised.

We're now seeking community feedback on the draft Goolwa Wharf Strategy. 📣⛵

As part of a holistic review of the Goolwa Wharf Precinct, Council is assessing the area’s current opportunities and challenges to guide future planning, investment, and activation. 🌟

We are asking the community to help identify which actions in the draft Strategy should be prioritised for delivery. ✅

Like the rest of Australia I am in shock of what happened to Helen Haines but think this article examines some of the issues. Here in South Australia we wait for the Government to act on the Parliamentary Inquiry into bullying and harassment in Local Government. While the abuse and text messages I received are nothing in comparison to this horrific incident it raises the question of why some men think it’s ok to abuse their female colleagues? I experienced this both as an Elected Member and as a candidate- how in earth are we going to encourage good people to run without some kind of accountability?

I am personally very distressed about Helen and encourage others who have been to talk to people. We must change this culture of abuse NOW.

We need more people like Helen Haines in Parliament.

What a week! School reunion, wedding and showing Stan some special parts of Perth - it has been frenetic and I haven’t had time to edit the thousands of photos 🤣
