We are very excited to host the Upwelling Festival - Portland Marine Environment Talks at the Portland Maritime Museum. There is a wonderful panel of speakers programmed who all have an exceptional understanding of our ocean. These talks are an ideal opportunity to learn about the science behind the Upwelling system and the whales that are part of this ecology.

The talks are free to attend and there is no need to book. Space is limited and seats will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis until full.

Tales and Treasures!
We are excited to be collaborating with Glenelg Libraries to bring you a special storytime surrounded by paintings from the Cultural Collection. Sailing ships on the high seas, rustic farming scenes from the 1700s and beach scenes from long ago Portland will help your imagination along whilst the folks from the library tell you stories! Tales and Treasures will take place at the Portland Arts Centre. Come along!

Join us for ‘Tales and Treasure’, a SPECIAL Storytime event presented a collaboration by Glenelg Libraries and the Cultural Collection at the Portland Arts Centre.

From Agnes Goodsir to Zillah Maschmedt - an exhibition shining a spotlight of some of our most interesting works. Come along to the Portland Arts Centre and see works from the collection which haven't been featured in an exhibition for a while alongside several new acquisitions.

The Portland Arts Centre is open from Monday to Friday from 10am - 4pm.
Saturday morning October 3 10am - 2pm with a free guided tour at 11am.
Entry is FREE.

Did you know that we run study sessions for VCE students? This week we welcomed Bayview College students studying Art and Visual Communication Design to the Portland Arts Centre where they explored some of the equipment we use to care for collections alongside how an exhibition comes to life from concept through to installation.
