OPERATION DOG LOG – EPISODE 2: THE INVESTIGATION πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

The investigation continues following a disturbing discovery at a Whitsunday park.
Our resident Sherlock Holmes is back on the case, armed with forensic expertise, questionable detective skills and the same facial expression he had in Episode 1.

πŸ”Ž With fresh evidence, a key witness and a promising lead, surely a breakthrough is close? Our fearless reporter Sandra isn't quite so convinced.

Will our detective finally crack the case? Or has he completely lost the plot?
🎬 Watch Episode 2 to find out.

Remember, when your dog does its business, do yours. Bag it. Bin it.
OPERATION DOG LOG – No case too small. No evidence too unpleasant.

πŸ’§ From the dam to the tap - water is part of our Whitsunday story.

We live in a pretty special part of the world.

From Lake Proserpine and the mighty Don River to our beautiful beaches, island waterways and the Great Barrier Reef, water helps shape the Whitsundays we know and love. 🌴

But water is also what keeps our towns running, our farms producing, our businesses operating and our communities growing.

And as our region continues to grow, looking after this precious resource and investing in reliable water services has never been more important.

This National Water Week (19–25 October), we're celebrating the role water plays in our everyday lives and reminding everyone that small actions can make a big difference.

πŸ’¦ Here's a question for our locals:

What's your favourite water spot in the Whitsundays?

Is it a day at Lake Proserpine, a swim at Horseshoe Bay, a trip to Airlie Beach Lagoon or somewhere a little more off the beaten track?

Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Happy Friday! 🌞

Two new bridges on the way for Kelsey Creek! πŸš§πŸŽ‰

Some great news to finish the week, with another important road upgrade moving forward in the Whitsundays!

We've awarded the contract to replace two ageing timber bridges on Kelsey Creek Road with modern concrete bridges that will deliver safer, stronger and more reliable connections for our community. πŸ™Œ

It's a big win for local residents, farmers and businesses, with the new bridges designed to improve flood resilience and provide better access for years to come.

βœ… What's happening next?

Survey and site investigations will get underway over the coming weeks, with detailed design continuing into early 2027.

Construction is expected to kick off around the middle of next year, with both new bridges on track for completion by late 2027.

πŸš— A quick heads-up for road users: Heavy vehicle detours remain in place, and temporary traffic management may be needed during investigations. All vehicles will need to use detours during construction.

We'll keep everyone updated as the project progresses.

Two new bridges, better connections and another investment in keeping our region moving! πŸ’ͺ

This project is funded by the Australian Government's Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.

Our Local Laws team will be increasing patrols at popular dog-walking locations across the region following an increase in complaints about dogs off leash and dogs not being kept under effective control.

The aim is simple – safer shared spaces for everyone.

Please keep your dog on a lead unless you're in a designated off-leash area, and remember that even off leash, your dog must remain under your effective control.

Rangers will be talking with dog owners about their responsibilities and taking enforcement action where appropriate.

Head to Council's website for more information on designated off-leash areas and permitted times - https://bit.ly/3TMGH20
