Proston has really Pinked Up this October to helping raise awareness and funds for the McGrath Foundation and the vital support provided by our breast cancer nurse.
It is wonderful to see our communities coming together to support those affected by breast cancer.🩷

With Cr Heath Sander at the BP Dam Fishing Comp. Congratulations to the BP Dam Fish Stocking Group for your work putting it all together. Over the last 26 years this group have put 5,300,000 fish in the dam which is an amazing effort 👏👏👏 A big thank you to the Kingaroy Scouts for your work catering and to everyone who contributed in any way to another successful event for our region👏👏👏

With Cr Linda Little - Div 2 Councillor for South Burnett Regional Council, Cr Danita Potter & Cr Debbie Dennien with Tracy Bevan & Natalie from the McGrath Foundation and our wonderful Breast Cancer Nurse, Susan Cox at a fantastic Blackbutt High Tea as one of the first events to kick start the fundraising effort. I got to open it but a big thank you to Cr Linda and the Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club who did most of the organising. Thank to Cr Danita for your role interviewing Tracey, Natalie and Sue. Cr Linda phoned to say the final awesome figure raised was $1654,50 👏👏👏👏

Congratulations to Katrina O'Shannessy Quirk who was awarded the Aquisitive Art prize tonight valued at $3000 at the October Wondai Art Gallery Opening. Congratulations to all of the prize winners. It was a great night and wonderful to see a large crowd and lots of sponsors. Thank you to President Maureen Irving and the team for putting it all together.

A productive morning of discussion, planning and looking towards the future with the General Manager of Swickers, Linchon Hawkes and myself as Mayor, CEO Mark Pitt, Cr Debbie Dennien, Cr Danita Potter, Cr Linda Little - Div 2 Councillor for South Burnett Regional Council & Cr Heath Sander. Swickers as part of the Sunpork Group are an important employer and contributor to our region, and strong relationships between local industry and Council are essential to building a strong and sustainable future for our region.

A gala night at the South Burnett Training and Business Awards evening with our Council team receiving a number of awards and nominations. It was a great night and congratulations to the organisers for the opportunity to showcase and recognise our South Burnett Businesses and Trainees. Congratulations to all of the nominees and award recipients👏👏👏

It was great for our Council team to catch up with our local member and Attorney General, the Honorable Deb Frecklington today to discuss the roll out of the Crusifulli Gov $63.2 million grant for infrastructure to support housing outcomes. We also discussed the Teelah fires and the fantastic job the Emergency Services and our rural firies did on the ground to keep people and houses safe👏👏
