Last night, Council voted to ban AI smart glasses in all of our aquatic centres to help protect the privacy and safety of residents and visitors.

There is growing concern about wearable devices that can discreetly record video, take photos and capture audio. The ban will help ensure our aquatic centres remain safe, respectful and welcoming places for everyone.

The outdoor pool in Queanbeyan is looking glorious, it is 26.4 degrees in the water and we are ready for opening! We are opening early for the season; the pool will be open from 7am tomorrow, Saturday 19 September.

The indoor family change rooms are also open for use again. Come on down!

The urgent maintenance work at Queanbeyan Pool looks to has been successfully completed, and we’re excited to announce that the pool is re-open (Friday 15 May 2026)! 🏊‍♂️

Important Update: Queanbeyan Pool Closure

The Queanbeyan Pool will be closed for a week from 3pm today, Friday 8 May 2026. This is due to urgent maintenance works.

The closure is required to facilitate urgent filter repairs. Initially, we aimed to keep the pool operational by using one filter while repairing the other. Unfortunately, the remaining filter has been unable to manage the current bather loads, and as a result, we must temporarily close the pool to ensure the health and safety of all patrons.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. For updates on reopening, please keep an eye on this page or visit our website: qprcaquatics.com.au
