At Rainbow Escape Charters we value fishing for food. It's great sport and awesome to get away from the grind of everyday, however at the heart of fishing is food production. If you just take boneless and skinless fillets then the yield is usually about 1/3 of the whole weight. Think about taking more, an easy way to start is the wings, backbone and cheeks.

At over $100kg for fillets it's well worthwhile. Who agrees?

The Cod have been very active lately.

These were taken from several different rocks in different areas. We limit our number of cod caught on any rock to 3, moving constantly so we don't destroy the rock.

These rocks have been producing for my family for decades and hopefully with management will continue to produce. We will leave them fallow for months now.
