Learning in place 🌿📸

As we capture the final pieces for our Expo, our students slowed down, looked closely and noticed the little things — new growth, wildflowers, insects, wildlife and the beauty all around them.

Time to breathe. Time to listen. Time to notice.

This is learning beyond the classroom. 💚

And just like that… Term 3 is done! ☀️

Yesterday we wrapped up another busy, fun and full term at Rapid Bay.

There’s been lots of learning, plenty of laughs, a few challenges, and so many moments to be proud of along the way.

A huge thank you to our students, staff and families for everything you’ve brought to our school this term. We hope everyone is enjoying the start of a well-earned break, some slower mornings, family time and a chance to recharge.

And to our families … the holiday handover is officially complete 😄

Have a safe and happy break, and we’ll see everyone back for Term 4!

🌱 Seed Bomb Making! 🌱

Our students had a fantastic afternoon getting their hands dirty and learning how to make native seed bombs with Carolyn Schultz PhD, Research Assistant with the Burton Lab and Visiting Research Fellow at Adelaide University.

The students loved learning about what goes into a seed bomb and experimenting with different mixtures of native seeds, compost, clay and water to create their own.

There was plenty of curiosity, problem-solving, experimenting… and some very muddy hands! 😄

Our next steps are to dry the seed bombs and work out the best places to plant them. 🌿

A big thank you to Carolyn for sharing her knowledge with us and giving our learners such a fun, hands-on opportunity to explore native plants, sustainability and caring for our local environment. We look forward to our next session.
