A fantastic evening at the SES Awards Night, celebrating the dedication and achievements of our volunteers.

It was wonderful to see members from both the Erica Unit and the GRU come together to recognise the incredible work being done across our region.

A special congratulations to Tiff for receiving her 5 Years of Service Medal. Thank you for your dedication, commitment and service to both our unit and the community.

A big thank you to Mick and Katie from the Erica Hotel Motel for opening their doors and hosting our function. Your hospitality helped make the evening a memorable one.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it such a special night.

🟠 Training Night at Erica SES 🟠

Our newest members have been getting hands-on experience with some of the fundamental skills used in emergency response.

This week’s training focused on learning how to correctly cover and secure a damaged doorway to help protect properties from the weather and further damage. Members also spent time developing their rope and knot-tying skills, an essential part of many SES operations.

These basic but important skills form the foundation of the work SES volunteers carry out in the community. It’s great to see our new members building confidence, developing practical skills, and working together as part of the team as they continue their volunteer journey.

Today, the volunteers from the Victoria State Emergency Service Erica Unit responded to assist police with a trail bike rider who had come off on a bush track.

While responding, crews came across an MVA on Moe/Rawson Road and stopped to assist Erica District Fire Brigade before continuing on to our original assist police call once the scene was made safe.

A big thank you to all the members who responded and assisted across both incidents today. Your dedication and teamwork are greatly appreciated by the community.
