🔥 The 2026-27 Fire Danger Season starts 1 November in the Riverland 🔥

Now is the time to get prepared. Make or review your Bushfire Survival Plan and ensure your property is ready for the season ahead.

Dates for the 2026-27 Fire Danger Season have been declared for an additional four Fire Ban Districts.

The season will begin on 1 November in the Murraylands, Riverland, Upper South East, and Lower South East districts, in line with the 2025-26 Fire Danger Season.

Dates for the remaining five districts will be announced in the coming weeks, following further local consultation.

Now is the time to prepare for the Fire Danger Season, make or review your Bushfire Survival Plan and ensure your property is bushfire ready.

📣 Australian National Flag to Fly at Half-Mast – Tuesday 20 October 📣

The Australian National Flag will be flown at half-mast at Renmark Paringa Council locations on Tuesday 20 October 2026, as a mark of mourning and respect for The Honourable Neil Andrew AO, former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

This follows advice from the Commonwealth Flag Officer ahead of a State Memorial Service to be held in Adelaide.

🌹 The Mayor and President on tour! 🌿

Mayor Peter Hunter joined Riverland Rose and Garden Festival President Vicki Dunhill to explore some of the festival’s beautiful attractions, from stunning open gardens to the historic Olivewood Museum.

It was a wonderful opportunity to see the creativity, community spirit and hard work that make this much-loved event so special. 🌷

⚽ From a long-held dream to breaking ground! ⚽

Over a decade in the making! The Renmark Olympic Soccer Club has reached an exciting milestone, with last week’s groundbreaking ceremony bringing its long-held vision for new clubrooms one step closer to reality.

Renmark Paringa Council was thrilled to join the club, supporters and community for the ceremony, celebrating a major milestone in a journey driven by a passionate group determined to create something special for local soccer.

Council has been proud to support the club in reaching this point and to see years of dedication turn into a project that will benefit players, families and future generations.

Mayor Peter Hunter was invited to speak at the ceremony, and even swapped the microphone for a shovel to help officially break ground!

In his speech, Mayor Hunter recognised the incredible commitment of the people behind the project, paying tribute to the volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to growing the club, nurturing junior players and creating opportunities for the next generation.

“We’re very lucky as a town that people are willing to put the energy, the time and the effort to make things happen,” he said.

He also highlighted the exciting potential for Renmark’s sporting precinct, with the new clubrooms complementing the nearby pool and other sporting facilities, further strengthening the area as a hub for sport and recreation for the whole community.

A huge congratulations to the entire Renmark Olympic Soccer Club for bringing this vision to life. We can’t wait to watch construction progress and see this long-held dream become a reality! 👏
