This convergence will mark 60 years of the base's occupation of Arrernte country, calling for Land Back to the Arrernte people, ending the US alliance, and continuing the ongoing anti-imperialist struggle for justice.

Naarm/Melbourne rallied for Naksa (“Setback’), which commemorates Israel’s occupation of the rest of Palestine in 1967, including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza, as well as Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and Syria’s Golan Heights.

The dynamic speakers were First Nations activist, Robbie Thorpe, Adnan Mansour from Free Palestine Melbourne, Egyptian actor Khalid Abdalla; Samoan woman and Greens MLC, Anasina Gray-Barberio and Neve O’Connor, who just returned from the Global Sumud Flotilla. Egyptian activist Hadeer was the rally MC. Their important and powerful message was this: Although the atrocities continue, so does the global resistance, which keeps getting stronger — and Palestine will be free again.

We stand with the trans community against toxic transphobia and support this Not in Our Name statement. We urge women to sign and support it, too.

The statement declares that "under the guise of protecting cisgender women, anti-trans politicians are pushing an agenda that threatens women's rights, jeopardising bodily autonomy, and opening the door to attacks on reproductive healthcare."

Take a stand NOW.

For the second time in twelve months, Ehsan Ali and other leading activists from the Awami Action Committee (a local community defence organisation) in the impoverished Pakistan-administered region of Gilgit Baltistan have been arrested on false charges of ‘terrorism’ and ‘incitement to violence’. Their only ‘crime’ is organising peaceful protests on behalf of poor and working people. Ehsan Ali is gravely unwell, and is being denied medical attention. The authorities reportedly intend to let him die in captivity.

Participate with us at the Palestine rally this Sunday to draw a red line on the 59th anniversary of the Naksa (set back). Israel now boasts of occupying 70% of Palestine and has moved on Lebanon, while waging war on Iran. Say No to the genocide, occupation and imperialist war. Join us to fight for a single democratic state of Palestine that is secular and socialist and the end of imperialism.

SOLIDARITY WITH OUR KURDISH SISTERS, FROM AUSTRALIA & THE U.S.

Today, May 31, has been designated by a coalition of Kurdish and Syrian women’s groups as a Global Day of Action in solidarity with the Women’s Protection Units, the YPJ. Over the past decade, the members of this women’s militia have demonstrated through their struggles, sacrifices and victories that women have the power to stand up for themselves and their society. They have successfully fought against jihadist forces such as ISIS and their misogynistic ideology.

They have raised awareness and demonstrated that women are the strongest force in military, political and social spheres when it comes to building democratic structures. They continue to defend the achievements of the Rojava revolution – women’s rights, women’s political and social participation and societal diversity – against the Islamist and misogynistic mentality of the interim government.

The YPJ proves that women everywhere have the ability and the right to defend themselves collectively and thus protect their country, their people, and their society.

Radical Women supports the demand that the YPJ be integrated into the Syrian army as a unit to protect women and democratic values. Together we raise the call “Long live the YPJ, a symbol of dignity and struggle! We are all YPJ! Self-defense is our natural right!”

This Defend Public Housing rally showed Premier Allan that she has a fight on her hands. The protest showed the determination of a well-organised grassroots campaign to save 44 public high rises from the Labor government’s wrecking ball. After decades of neglect, Allan is handing this prime real estate to corporate developers.

The broad rally outreach brought a crowd. The fiery speeches by residents, housing workers and campaign organisers galvanised strong solidarity around the demands to renovate the towers and build MORE public housing. They inspired everyone to be part of building on the community organising and action so far. Revved up, we marched from the State Library to the Atherton Gardens high rise in Fitzroy for more speeches and grassroots networking. So watch out for more organising.T

Today the fabulous Riff Raff marching band kept us energised as we marched against the Allan Labor government’s plan to tear down 44 public housing high rises. We demanded that they be renovated and more public housing be built. It was a rousing day of speeches by well-organised tenants, housing workers and other campaigners and strong working class solidarity.

Trans Feminists United say ‘NO MORE FEMICIDE!’ 27/05/2026

Radical Women was proud to be part of a dynamic platform of speakers at this Rally to Remember, organised by Trans Feminists Unite! last weekend. This podcast is thanks to Queering the Air and Annie McLoughlin of 3CR, who recorded the speeches. You'll get to hear internationalist perspectives on global, systemic femicide which targets trans and all women — and what to do about it.

Trans Feminists United say ‘NO MORE FEMICIDE!’ On this episode, we went live to the Trans Feminists United rally at the Victorian State Library forecourt to join, in solidarity, with their timely refusal to accept the rising number of murders of women and girls of every intersection across the globe. This rally was broadcasted live, and this pod...

This Melbourne vigil, organised by Trans Feminists Unite!, remembered those lost to the trans community. Eulogies were mixed with fiery speeches that nailed capitalism as the cause of the femicide. Radical Women was proud to be among the speakers from Iran, Ecuador and Australia, who connected the femicide of women, indigenous, trans and q***r peoples. RW spoke of the legacy of resistance, with trans women of colour at the forefront, which continues to now. We spoke of the power that a feminist united front could have in building a force capable of beating down the growing far-right reaction — and its revolutionary nature.
