🌧We had a little shower of 6mm last night and we're so happy - it looks greener already! 😂 It's really not much rain but we only had 8mm for the whole month prior so it's all relative. The wind is back to dry it all out today anyway. Hoping for some actual spring rain soon but the outlook isn't promising - thank goodness for irrigation. And no, the walnut trees aren't dead, they just take an age to start leafing out...

Sometimes the judges comments are as exciting as the medal itself!
🥇We're proud as punch to receive a gold medal for our cold-pressed walnut oil at The Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards, along with some pretty nice feedback from the expert judges.

From waste to winner: The real story behind our walnut flour - recently named Champion Pantry entry at the Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards - is that it's made from the waste product of a waste product.

We use the broken and cosmetically discoloured walnuts that don't make it into our packaged walnut kernel to then make walnut oil, and the flour is made from the remaining press cake once the oil is extracted. And the flour actually beat both of those primary products in winning the champion award.

Our walnut flour also received a gold medal at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show - all in its very first year of being entered.

Judges commented that the flour is an 'outstanding product with so many uses.'

Just goes to show even 'waste' can make a beautiful culinary ingredient.

Huge thanks to Pepo Farms - Pumpkin Seeds Australia for the expert craftsmanship that brings out the best in our walnuts and allows us to create gorgeous products from every bit of our walnut crop.

Recently, we've felt honoured to receive several 5-star reviews from happy customers. Leaving a review might seem a small thing to do, but for small business owners it really makes all the hard work worthwhile. Thanks for loving our walnuts, and thanks for letting us know 💗
