Hello Everyone! I hope you are all staying healthy and safe. I know people are keen to get back to training.
Here is where things are currently at:
After talking with the guys at Urbanlife, we have agreed, due to various reasons, that it will be too complicated to hold classes inside at the Urbanlife community venue.
This means working out a new space to safely train in, which, for the moment, may or may not be outdoors.
It will also mean re-organising our insurance, and possibly equipment.
This obviously will require some consideration.
I would also be interested to know what sort of training you guys would be comfortable engaging with.
Until things are sorted, feel free to engage with Remote Learning study group on Facebook. If you have not already been added to the group, and would like to be, don't hesitate to let me know.
Once again, thank you for your patience, and hang in there a little while longer for the next announcement.
Thank you also for your understanding - Dave Stone

Bringing Tactical Krav Maga to Melbourne's East, TKM UrbanSafe specialises in realistic Self Defence
Hello Everyone! I hope you are all staying healthy and safe. I know people are keen to get back to training. I am just working out a few details so we may, restrictions allowing, get back to in-person training. However, I should point out that whatever happens, some changes to our training experience will be necessary to accommodate the social distancing requirements, and that we be safe training. Thank you for your patience, and hang in there a little while longer for the next announcement. Thank you once again for your understanding - Dave Stone
To everyone who supports Urbansafe:
The official word from the Government is that in-person training may resume June 22, but with the social distancing/non contact rules, I am unsure what Krav Maga is going to look like at this stage.
To those dying to get back to training, I am interested to hear what a training environment you would be comfortable with would look like. I am well aware that self defence training will look very different from this point on.
Feel free to comment below or send a private message.
With thanks -
Dave Stone.
More on the improvised shield. Hopefully it can be seen that using a hard object as a shield is as damaging to an incoming attack as it is protective to yourself.
Basic home training idea Number 1. Pick up an object, and practice using it as a shield. Sharply push it out in front of yourself, and sharply withdraw it. In this video, Hunter is using a Thai kicking pad, but there are lots of things you could use if don't have that sort of equipment, such as a handbag, box or chair.
Note to all students regarding the outbreak of
COVID-19 (corona virus) infection:
In order to help manage the risk of spreading the COVID-19 infection, all regular classes at Urbanlife are suspended until further notice.
Stay well and safe.
Home training programme coming soon.
Thank you for your understanding - Dave Stone.
Note to all students regarding the outbreak of
Covid-19 (corona virus) infection:
In line with the current official Government advice, all regular classes are able to continue for the time being, as long as we maintain a high standard of hygiene, following the usual advice of washing hands, sanitizing equipment, using a towel for sweat etc.
Since this is a rapidly evolving situation, this advice may change, and training may need to be suspended accordingly.
Until then, Monday training is on at 7:30pm.
Any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your understanding - Dave.
