Maroondah Community Assist Community organisation offering services to those in need across Maroondah since 1967. in 1996.

The origins of the Maroondah Citizens Advice Bureau began through merging the Ringwood and Croydon offices in 1996. In 1967 the Ringwood Advisory Service was formed and was one of just ten Advisory Bureaus in existence within Victoria at that time. In 1974 the Croydon Community Service combined with Ringwood to form the Ringwood/Croydon Advisory Service. Following council amalgamations the two offices became the Maroondah Citizens’ Advice Bureau Inc. April 2016, the name was officially changed and we became Maroondah Community Assist

Today, Maroondah Community Assist offers information, referral and emergency relief services from its Croydon and Ringwood offices.

At CISVic’s 55th AGM, we were proud to honour the late Keith McLean and recognise his remarkable contribution to Maroondah Community Assist and the wider community.

Keith joined Maroondah Community Assist in 2017 and generously gave his time, skills and experience in a range of roles, including Community Support Worker, Treasurer and President.

Keith was passionate about helping others and believed strongly in treating everyone with dignity, respect and without judgement. His dedication to supporting people experiencing hardship, building community connections and strengthening local services left a lasting legacy.

We were honoured to recognise Keith’s contribution by inducting him into the CISVic Honour Roll.

Our thoughts are with Keith’s family, friends and colleagues, and we extend our heartfelt thanks for the many ways he contributed to his community and the lives he touched through his years of service.

It is with a heavy heart that we advise of the passing of Keith McLean on Saturday 27th June.

Keith was a much loved member of MCA, serving as a committee member, treasurer and president, showing kindness and compassion to all he met. He will be missed by volunteers and clients alike.

The funeral service for Keith will take place on Monday 6th July at 2pm at Le Pine Funerals Glen Waverley Chapel, 388 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley.

MCA was so thrilled to learn this week that CISVic have inducted our former president Keith McLean to the Community Information and Support Honour Roll, recognising Keith for the amazing contribution he’s made to MCA and the Maroondah community.
