In September, YAC member Esther was recognised as one of the 34 winners in the ABC Northern Tasmania Heywire's Tamar Valley storytelling competition. Congratulations Esther, and all the other Tamar Valley winners!

Esther said to us that she "had such an amazing time at the Heywire Youth Summit! I got to meet so many new people, take part in some really cool media opportunities, build my public speaking skills and have some great conversations.

One of the best parts was getting to talk about issues affecting young people in the Tamar Valley and work with others to brainstorm ideas and solutions.

I’m so grateful for the people I met and everything I learnt throughout the week. Definitely an experience I’ve taken a lot away from!"

Pop into the Visitor Centre in Exeter and complete a survey with us!

The Tasmanian research project is being conducted by Dr Lisa Denny and the Tasmanian Policy Exchange at the University of Tasmania.

We’re interested in learning more about why you live in Tasmania or why you moved away, how connected to community you feel, the benefits and challenges of living in Tasmania, and whether you would consider moving elsewhere and why.

The survey should take approx. 7 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, you will be offered the opportunity to enter a prize draw.
