Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today we took the opportunity to celebrate and thank all the wonderful staff at Rochester Secondary College for the work they do each day. A coffee and morning tea were a small way of showing our appreciation for the dedication, care and effort they bring to our school community.

Thank you to our amazing staff for everything you do!

Our clubs were back this term, giving students the chance to step outside the usual classroom routine and try something different.

With AFL, art, basketball and badminton, bikes, board games, books and STEM, CAS, cinema, fishing and netball on offer, there was something for everyone.

The clubs have been a huge hit with both students and staff, providing a great opportunity to explore interests, try new things and enjoy time together outside the classroom.

Better late than never! A look back at some of our Year 9 students showcasing their woodworking skills earlier this year.

Great to see our students putting their skills into practice and bringing their projects to life in the workshop.

Yesterday, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students travelled to the Dharnya Centre in Barmah State Forest for a day of Culture, connection and learning on Country.

Students participated in a Cultural Walk through the forest, learning about the history of Barmah State Forest before and after colonisation, as well as the ongoing work being undertaken to heal and care for Country.

This was followed by a Yarning Circle, where important cultural themes were explored, stories and knowledge were shared, and students were encouraged to ask questions, share their perspectives and deepen their understanding of Culture.
It was a valuable opportunity to connect with Country, learn from knowledge holders and strengthen connections with one another.

Year 12 Celebration Day!
A great way to wrap up the school events for our Year 12s as they get ready to take on their final exams. Thank you to our Year 12 students for a fantastic year, and to all other year levels for getting involved and letting them enjoy a bit of silliness along the way.
We look forward to celebrating with our Year 12s at graduation and wish them all the best for the exams ahead. The celebrations are done, now it’s time to focus and finish strong!
