After a long winter, it is Springtime.
Happy Spring To You All.
Here is the report from Irymple Valley.
The valley looks amazing-- from the neatly pruned grapevines, to the everlastings to Fiona’s irises - yes Spring has sprung. And the first of the cherry blossoms are out.
The Supremes, a few Rainier and the Empress have started. It is early days to say how much blossom or if any will set, but all of our fingers (and some toes) are crossed.
Our winter was MUCH drier than last year – but there was a fair bit of cold and some super frosts so this all seems AOK.
So …, we expect the different varieties to start flowering over September and into October and, if the bees fly in and start doing their thing, well we just could have some cherries for you.
Look for a post around mid-October. By then we should know if the cherries have set and what type of season it will be.
And no buying those imported cherries over the winter months.
