With warm spring weather quickly drying out the landscape, you’ve probably noticed an increase in heavy machinery on our local roads as farmers prepare for harvest.

While official Fire Danger Season dates haven't been announced yet for the Mid North or Mount Lofty Ranges fire ban districts, we know the season is just around the corner—and now is the time to prepare.

A couple simple ways to get fire ready this week:
- Clear gutters, tidy up long dry grass, and trim overhanging branches around the house.
- Review and practice your Bushfire Survival Plan with everyone in your household.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued the cancellation for the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Murraylands and Upper South East districts.

Issued at 9:20 pm CDT on Sunday 11 October 2026

Severe thunderstorms have eased over the Murraylands this evening.

Weather Situation: Isolated thunderstorms are expected to continue moving eastwards into the evening ahead of a cold front with favourable unstable conditions.

This warning is now cancelled.

Hailstones up to 3 cm were reported at various locations in the southern suburbs of Adelaide around 8:00 pm

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.

Our brigade is starting our rural fire training tonight. As part of this training our truck sirens will be sounding at regular intervals tonight.

There is no cause for concern and we will continue to respond should we be called upon.

Twenty-five years after the September 11 attacks, we pause to commemorate the day that changed the world forever.

As we commemorate this anniversary, a new generation will learn about the unimaginable loss we experienced and the inspiring stories of bravery, compassion, unity, and service that we witnessed, and have rippled through the decades.

Across the fire service, we stand in solidarity with the FDNY to remember the 343 firefighters who lost their lives saving others. 𝑵𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕.
