❤️ Remembering Felicity ❤️
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our former colleague and much-loved East Coast community member, Felicity Spilsbury.
Felicity was a valued member of the Thrive Group team for over 18 years working at Thrive, where she made many meaningful contributions to the lives of children, families and colleagues.
Beyond her work with Thrive, Felicity was a familiar and valued presence in the East Coast community, contributing her time and energy to families and children and widely known has being the safe home within the community, a place where young people could go when they needed support or just somewhere safe to be.
Felicity is fondly remembered for her storytelling – using well known stories but changing them slightly to add the children’s names, different endings or a shortened version when a short transition for activities or sleep/rest was needed.
Our St Mary’s Early learning Service Leader Bec, shared this beautiful quote to really sum up Felicity’s enormous impact to those who knew and loved her:
“Felicity was Mumma Fliss to all the staff, always treating each and every staff member like they were her children she would protect, you could always count on her.”
We know her passing will be deeply felt by many across the East Coast, including those who had the privilege of working alongside her.
On behalf of everyone at Thrive Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Felicity’s family, friends, former colleagues and the wider community during this difficult time.
Thank you, Felicity, for the contribution you made to Thrive and to the community you were such an important part of.
You will be remembered with much love. ❤️
