Did you test your smoke alarms when you put your clocks forward for daylight saving? ⏰🔥

If you didn’t, it’s not too late!

🚨 Only working smoke alarms save lives.

How to test:
Push the test button with your finger or a broom handle
✅️If it beeps, it’s working.
❌ If it doesn’t, replace the battery or smoke alarm.

We recommend you test monthly and dust yearly 👍

District 8’s newest internal firefighters, including one of our own, Firefighter Sandlant! 👏

Jemma has taken another great step in her CFA journey, successfully completing her Respond to Urban Fire course. This opens the door to operating as an internal structural firefighter, with the skills needed to safely enter and work within burning structures.

It’s been a big commitment, balancing training with full-time work in public mental health, family and her role as our Community Safety Coordinator, where she organises and oversees programs to help our community prevent and prepare for fire.

We’re proud of this achievement and all the hard work that’s gone into it. Congratulations Jemma! 👩‍🚒
