All spiders can jump and will attack you!!!... says the people that don't know much about spiders ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

A lot of spiders are ground dwellers, including the infamous funnel web, meaning no they don't jump. Funnel webs can't even climb smooth surfaces! ๐Ÿ˜†

To spiders, humans are GIANT so trust us, they are a lot more scared of you, then you are of them ๐Ÿ‘

Funnel web season IS HERE! ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

Some exciting news for the future of the Australian Reptile Park ๐ŸŠ

For years, weโ€™ve had ambitions to grow the Park, introduce new attractions, improve the visitor experience and create the space we need for the next generation.

WCTVโ€™s broader vision for the surrounding site presents a real opportunity to help make that possible, while creating a much bigger tourism destination around us here at Somersby.

As Tim puts it: โ€˜This isnโ€™t just about protecting what we have today. Itโ€™s about creating something bigger and better for the Park, our visitors and the Central Coast.โ€™

Weโ€™re excited about what lies ahead and support the Planning Proposal progressing to Gateway as the next step in bringing that broader vision forward.

Read the full joint media statement and learn more about the proposal here: https://www.wctv.com.au/news/australian-reptile-park-backs-proposal-to-unlock-tourism-conservation-park-expansion

Shazza is officially the BIGGEST living death adder in the world! ๐ŸŒŽ

We invited herpetologist Dane Trembath from the Australian Museum to help us measure Shazza, the common death adder. She measured at a whopping 110cm long and weighing 1.55kg! ๐Ÿคฏ

Shazza has been part of our lifesaving venom program for nine years and produces the largest venom yields of any death adder in the program! ๐Ÿ

And the winner of the NRL grand final is... ๐Ÿฅ

It's gonna be the Knights! Well according to Elvis ๐Ÿ˜‚

Presented with 2 identical chunks of meat, Elvis the saltwater crocodile chose the Newcastle Knights one, meaning there's even more hope for the underdogs this Sunday! ๐ŸŽ‰

Not where you wanna find a Death Adder ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Brandon was called out to a local property to remove a Death Adder that was found in a toolbox! Luckily the snake was chill and we removed it safely without anyone getting hurt ๐Ÿ’ช
