Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a series of burglaries that occurred in South Melbourne on the 20th of December 2025.

Two offenders, a male and a female have attended the address with a large rubbish bin and stolen a large amount of alcohol.

The offender/s are described as:
1. Caucasian male, wearing a white t-shirt, green shorts, wearing a white face mask and wearing a black curly wig
2. Caucasian female with brown hair, wearing a black puma jumper, white tracksuit pants and runners

Investigators have released an image of two people who may be able to assist with enquiries.

Prahran Highway Patrol officers are appealing to the public to help identify a vehicle following a hit-run in Melbourne early hours of Saturday morning.

A vehicle described as a white Mercedes SUV was spotted driving erratically before it crashed into several cars near the intersection of Queens Road and Leopold Street around midnight.

The series of collisions caused a power pole to come down, resulting in Queens Road being closed for an extended period.

The SUV did not stop and took off from the scene headed towards the CBD.

Surprisingly, no one was injured.

Police wish to speak to witnesses, anyone with dashcam of the SUV or knowledge of the vehicles number plate.

Further three males arrested as part of Operation Eclipse 15/05/2026

Victoria Police has arrested a further three males this morning as part of the Operation Eclipse investigation into incidents targeted at Melbourne hospitality venues.

Detectives from Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit executed two search warrants at residential addresses in the Whittlesea area at 7.30am this morning.

Two 17-year-old boys were taken into custody and are currently being interviewed by detectives.

A firearm, numerous electronic devices and a quantity of drugs were seized from their addresses.

The activity follows an incident where five Molotov cocktails were thrown towards a licensed venue on Cecil Street in South Melbourne about 2.20am on 2 May.

Officers from the Public Order Response Team (PORT) responded and a fire was promptly extinguished, causing minimal damage.

No one was inside the venue at the time of the incident.

Detectives from Operation Eclipse have this morning arrested a 20-year-old Tarneit man as part of their investigation into extortion demands on two venues in Melbourne’s CBD.

On Thursday, 7 May two demands for money were made via social media to venues on Flinders Lane and Lonsdale Street.

The man was charged with possess prohibited weapon without exemption and possess cartridge ammunition without exemption.

He was bailed to appear at Wyndham Magistrates’ Court on 12 June.

A number of knives, ammunition and a mobile phone were seized from his address.

The investigation remains ongoing.
