Supporting local youth through St. Kilda PCYC ❤️
Last night. Council endorsed to allocate an additional $22,000 for local non-for-profit St Kilda PCYC to help complete priority maintenance works.
This investment will enable the community gym to safely reopen, providing a much-needed space for young people in our community.
We will continue working closely with St Kilda PCYC over the coming week to finalise a reopening plan and confirm timelines for completing the works.

Calmer waters at St Kilda Pier 🏊🛥️
Safe Transport Victoria has approved new waterway rules around St Kilda Pier to improve the safety for swimmers and other water users.
The updated rules now match the new pier layout and strengthen safety by prohibiting boating and jetski use in front of the terraced seating area and underneath the pier.
The changes introduce new rules in and around St Kilda Harbour and Pier, including:
✅ Updated 5-knot speed restriction zones in and around the harbour and adjacent waters
✅ Larger and clearer areas where boats and personal watercrafts (i.e. jet skis) are not allowed, particularly around the pier, marina and shoreline.
✅ Adjustments to align exclusion zones with the new pier and harbour configuration, supporting safer separation of vessels and swimmers
This is a positive outcome for the community and Council looks forward to continuing to work with state agencies and enforcement partners to improve safety on the water and along our coastline
Our vibrant and liveable City is shaped by the voice of our community ❤️

We've held our very first Women in Sport Network event, with over 20 participants from across local sport, including coaches, administrators, officials and club leaders.
Attendees took part in a Confident Communicators Masterclass, delivered by Carol Fox - Confident Communication for Leaders, exploring practical tools to strengthen communication skills and build confidence in sporting environments, while also connecting with others across local sport.
The Women in Sport Network is part of our commitment to supporting women and girls, of all identities, in our community to fully participate in and enjoy the benefits of community sport, with fair access to opportunities and local facilities.
This event was made possible through grant funding through the Victorian Government’s Change Our Game program.
