Cactus Country (as seen on Better Homes & Gardens) is an Australian desert landscape like no other. Drawing visitors from around the globe to explore the gardens and marvel at the blooms, shapes and sizes of these spiky sensations. Get ready to discover more than 4,000 species of cacti and succulents. Sandy walking trails weave their way through the 12 acres of garden making for an unforgettable trip. There are eight paths to explore and plenty to see and do for all ages, even the four-legged variety. When it comes time to refuel the mind, body and soul, Cactus Country offers a range of refreshments including cactus cake, cactus ice cream, honey collected from on site bee hives and even cactus c***r! The onsite nursery has a huge range of varieties for purchase so you can start your own cactus garden at home. Pack your walking shoes and camera and uncover this little piece of Mexico right here in Strathmerton.

A few moments from last year’s Fright Fest. We’re doing it again this Saturday, 24 October, from 5–9pm.

Bring the family, wear your costumes and come for a wander amongst the cacti. There’s a Super Heroes jumping castle, a scavenger hunt and treat bags for the kids.

Face painting, BBQ food and nachos will be available to buy on the night.

Fright Fest returns to Cactus Country 🎃🌵

Get your costumes ready for Saturday 24 October, 5–9pm. We’re opening the gardens for an evening of Halloween fun amongst the cacti.

There’s a Super Heroes jumping castle, a scavenger hunt through the gardens and treat bags for the kids. Face painting costs extra, with BBQ food and nachos to buy on the night.

This week is shaping up to be one of the best flowering weeks of the season 🌵🌸

Tarn took these photos in the gardens yesterday. Yellow flowers right along the trails, big pink blooms and plenty more buds still to open.

This is why I’ve been breeding cacti 🌵

A few of the flowers I found on my walk around the garden. Pink, peach-orange, yellow and cream, with plenty of buds still to open.

We’re starting to get groups of flowers opening together now. It’s lovely to see.
