Yesterday our new Unit Building was officially opened in Stroud. Unveiling of the plaque were Hon. Kate Washington (On behalf of Jihad Dib) and MCC Mayor, Alan Tickle. We were honoured to have so many members (past and present) and guests to join us on this great occasion.

A little background information:
The Stroud SES facilities at Booral were identified as requiring an upgrade. Significant access issues with the existing location during severe weather events as well as the poor condition of the Unit Buildings contributed to the urgent need for relocation and construction of a new facility in Stroud.

The new building provides a structure to house the new generation of advanced NSW SES rescue vehicles, trailers, boats, storage for rescue equipment, offices, training room, kitchen and change room facilities. It provides a quality environment with improved safety standards and is equipped with the latest technology to access emergency operations systems.

Funding

NSW SES committed $2.116 million towards the project as a part of facilities enhancement funding provided by the NSW State Government.

Mid Coast Council have been really supportive of the Unit building and facilities. Their contribution included providing the land parcel, jointly designing, managing the tendering and the project

Precise Build were awarded the tender.
