🌼 Life is a beautiful gift—live it with purpose, joy, and gratitude. 🌼

Surround yourself with people who inspire you, support you, and bring a smile to your face. Happiness grows when shared, and every moment becomes more meaningful when spent with those who truly care.

As Lions, we are blessed with the opportunity to spread kindness, build friendships, and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Choose joy. Share kindness. Create memories. Serve with heart. šŸ’™šŸ’›

During National Volunteer week, we would like to thank the Lions Club of Stroud Volunteers for your wonderful contribution to the community of Stroud.

For the last 70 years The Lions Club of Stroud have been building and helping our community. They have been there to fund raise for individuals that have been in need or organisations that are starting out or when we are recovering from disasters.

THESE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT LIONS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND SO MUCH MORE.

• Assistance during the floods - immediately we gave $1500 to every adult and $500 to every child that had lost everything. Gave those people credit at the IGA and Pharmacy to book up essentials for a month. We organised clothes and gave these families first choice as clothes came in, plus other necessities. Anything that wasn’t claimed we gave to other charities. We also helped with a bond so a family could get a rental home, put a family up at the hotel until they could find accommodation. We were there when help was needed.

• School of Arts - Industrial Kitchen and Air Conditioning so it is now an all seasons function and event hall for our community.

• The Building of Stroud Community Lodge - fund raised and set up the board for the ongoing management of the largest employer in the Stroud area. Continued fund raising for the expansion of the Lodge from 12 to 31 residential rooms plus 3 self-care apartments. A phenomenal achievement for such a small community.

• Created parks at Stroud and Stroud Road, sponsoring play equipment, picnic tables, the skate park, seating and shade sails.

• They sponsored the Men’s Shed and helped all the local RFS brigades and the SES.
Lions were there to help other clubs to start out or help them fundraise or donate to improve all the facilities in our community including the Showground, tennis courts, swimming pool, the ambulance station and our three primary schools. Where there has been a need Lions have been there to help.

• Over these 70 years tens of thousands of sausages have been cooked by Lions tens of thousands of hours have been given by members so that all the families that live in this community can have the best life that we all strive for.

• Lions have been there to help the annual events like the Rodeo, Show and Brick Throwing, we ran the Picnic Races and the Stroud Heritage Growers and Artisans Market to not only raise money to help financially but create a community spirit and offer help where help is needed.

• We have run mental health and first aid courses to make sure that we have skilled people to help out in an emergency and for the last 3 years working with Rotary MHERV Men’s Health Education Van that visits Stroud each year doing free health checks for men and women.

• Lions is a member funded organisation which means that every dollar fundraised goes to the cause it was fundraised for, that’s 100% of every dollar not like other charities that take a huge percentage for administration.

• The more members the ā€œmore goodā€ can be done and the better our community can be. It is now a very flexible organisation, members decide how it works. What it does offer is huge support from other Clubs, both Australian and International Lions foundations guiding members with true ethics and legal support. Unbelievable education and a welcome to other Clubs all around the World.
