Located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, with a backdrop of beautiful beaches, Maroochydore State High School is a vibrant and dynamic school, with highly experienced and qualified teachers who are caring and supportive of every student. Established in 1964 and founded on strong traditional values, Maroochydore High has an innovative, dynamic and modern curriculum, where students achieve excellent outcomes and where Year 12 performance in recent years has established Maroochydore High as one of the top schools on the Sunshine Coast. While we respect and build on the past, our outlook is future oriented as we endeavour to equip students with the skills and attitudes they need to create a bright and prosperous future. The school values of safety, respect and learning permeate every aspect of school life. The school motto “Niti et Servire” means to strive and serve, so there is a very strong focus on effort, working to potential as well as the importance of active citizenship with service to the community embedded in every year level through a structured service and leadership program. An active Pastoral Care program and Student Services support team are integral in our drive to try and ensure students have every opportunity to create a bright and prosperous future for themselves. Students of all abilities are supported and challenged to realise their potential through an exciting range of subjects and innovative programs that provide something for everyone. Maroochydore High is a place where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and shine.

✅ Major drainage upgrades are now complete
🚶 New footpaths and kerbing are well underway
📅 Despite the recent wet weather, the project remains ahead of schedule
🚌 Temporary bus operations continue to run smoothly, thanks to the fantastic support of our traffic control team and Maroochydore SHS staff.
😊 A big thank you to our students, families, staff and visitors for your patience and support as we continue building an even better Maroochydore SHS.

Doubt is one of the weirdest-looking words!!!

“Doubt your doubts” means questioning the voice in your head that says you can’t, or you're not good enough. It also means when you see something that doesn’t sit right, doubt your doubts and speak up, because your voice could change everything.

Reading in Health and Physical Education 🏃📖

Students read a wide range of texts - from health information and research to fitness data, movement diagrams, game strategies and practical instructions.

As they read, students learn to:

🏃 Interpret movement, technique and strategy
📊 Make sense of health and performance data
🔎 Evaluate health information and evidence
🧠 Connect information with practical situations
💡 Apply what they read to decisions about health and performance

Reading in HPE often means taking information off the page and putting it into practice.

Students read to understand, make informed decisions and improve performance.

Message from Harry Brennan (School Captain) on behalf of the MSHS Student Council:

We have organised to be part of the Nedd Brockmann Uncomfortable Challenge to raise awareness and money for homelessness from Monday 9-18 November. Over 30 students and staff have already signed up for this cause but we would like to extend the invitation to parents and carers for this school community event.

To join the MSHS Uncomfortable Challenge team or to donate click this link: https://www.neddsuncomfortablechallenge.com/fundraisers/maroochydorestatehighschool
We encourage all participants to share their donation links to maximise the impact we can have as a school. Thank you to everyone who signs up and good luck with your uncomfortable challenge

I'm helping raise $10 million for Australia's homeless through Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge. I need your support!

🍎Happy World Teachers' Day and Staff Appreciation Day! 💛💚

Today we celebrate our amazing teachers at Maroochydore SHS and take the opportunity to recognise and thank our entire staff for the incredible work they do every day.
From our classrooms to our offices to our grounds and everywhere in between, every member of our school plays an important role in making MSHS such a wonderful school.

💐👏👏A HUGH THANK YOU to our fabulous Maroochydore SHS Parents and Citizen’s Association for the delicious sweet and savoury boxes, along with a coffee voucher for each staff member, prepared lovingly by our Swannies canteen and delivered by our student leaders.
We have such dedicated staff at our school and thank each of them.

A great night at the observatory means a few weary faces this morning (mostly the teachers 😂). Saturn was worth it, though! Today is another big day:

✅ Questacon
✅ Queen Elizabeth Terrace for lunch
✅ High Court of Australia (it’s just the vibe of it)
✅ Treetops for high ropes

We get a free night tonight 😮‍💨 and we’ll get ready for our trek back to the Coast.

Good news, we successfully completed last nights escape rooms and made it back to to our accomodation (in case anyone was worried). 😂
Today was another full day. We visited:

✅ Canberra Deep Space Communication Centre - fun fact: they have the satellite here that communicated the first 8mins of the first man on moon in 1969!
✅ National Arboretum Canberra
✅ Royal Australian Mint
✅ Australian Institute of Sport

Tonight, after dinner, we are off to Mount Stromlo Observatory 🔭
