It’s Book Buzz time! 📚
This week we feature ‘The Ruiners', debut novel by Australian author, Ellena Savage.
📖 What do we inherit from the world and the people in it? And what do we do with that inheritance?
Pip’s life is going nowhere. She’s a university drop-out stuck in a dead-end job at a Melbourne lobster shack. When her father dies, she’s left an orphan with fifty-thousand dollars and no idea what to do with it until she meets Sasha, a dashing young scholar of Balkan literature.
Together, they buy a decrepit house on a distressed Greek island. Instead of a bohemian idyll, they’re drawn into an environmental struggle that brings past mistakes into sharp relief.

Meet Deb, one of our Home Library Service Volunteers - this months feature Humans of Brimbank. While meeting author, Christian White, we caught up with Deb for 3 quick questions:
1) What brought you to Brimbank Libraries today?
To listen to Author Christian White talk about his latest book and other projects he’s involved in. I love his books and he was very generous with his time to take questions, sign my books for me and grab a pic with him as well.
2) What do you love about libraries?
Books, books, books ……. they are my addiction. You can escape the everyday ho hum and be taken on a great journey. Libraries are also a place of calm
3) What are you taking home with you?
More books to read - Sally Hepworth & Virginia Giuffrie
Interesting in volunteering at Brimbank Libraries? We have info sessions coming up later in 2026 or enquiry online at: https://bit.ly/4detjHJ
