👏Thank you Volunteers!
Volunteer crews from the NSW SES Batemans Bay Unit sent north to assist NSW SES Ulladulla Unit to support severe storm operations after a mini tornado caused localised property damage..
🦺Teams worked through late Saturday evening, dealing and assisting with damaged roofs, windows & fallen trees.
🧡We are incredibly proud of our volunteers for stepping up to help our South Coast neighbours..

The NSW SES has received more than 180 calls for assistance on Saturday (to 6pm) as severe thunderstorms moved across the state, including in Ulladulla where a mini tornado impacted the C*D. 🌪️ ☔️

Severe weather is causing heavy rainfall and damaging winds in Greater Sydney this evening, and NSW SES teams are responding to calls for assistance.

These thunderstorms could bring flash flooding with isolated heavy rainfall totals up to 100mm possible.

🚗 Communities are urged to steer clear of floodwater. If you come across a flooded road, turn around and find an alternative route.

📷 In Ulladulla, NSW SES crews and partner emergency service personnel are responding to nearly 30 calls for assistance as a mini tornado blew roofs off properties and downed trees and powerlines. People are urged to keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines and report any damage to the NSW SES.

📲 Stay across the latest warnings and advice by downloading the Hazards Near me app or visiting the NSW SES website.

If you need assistance during storms and floods, call the NSW SES on 132 500. In a life-threatening emergency, always call Triple Zero (000).

☀️⏰️A friendly reminder that Daylight Saving starts tomorrow, Sunday, October 4th, when clocks move forward by 1 hour from 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.
📱Your smart devices will handle the change automatically, but your kitchen appliances, older car dashboard, and🕰 traditional watches will need a manual adjustment.

😴The upside:Yep, we lose an hour of sleep but the bonus is we do get longer afternoons especially for the beach here on the beautiful South Coast, 🏖

🔸Please ️Stay safe on the roads and around the water this long weekend .

This long weekend we’re expecting severe thunderstorms, large hail, heavy rainfall and damaging winds across parts of the state from this evening into Sunday.

Severe thunderstorms are possible across the Central West, South Coast, Illawarra and Sydney from today through to Sunday, before moving northeast early next week.

Thunderstorms could bring flash flooding, damaging winds, and large hail, with heavy rainfall reaching up to 100mm in some areas. Minor flooding is also possible across state river systems.

Residents in the forecast areas should be prepared and follow safety advice:

🔸Clear your drains and gutters
🔸Trim back overhanging trees or branches
🔸Tie down loose items
🔸If you come across a flooded road, steer clear and find an alternative route

📲 Download Hazards Near Me to stay across warnings and if you’re going away, ensure you check the weather at both your destination and at home.

🚗 Remember, double demerits are now in play and the roads may be heavier, so drive to conditions.

If you come across a flooded road, steer clear and find an alternative route.

If you require assistance, call us on 132 500. In life-threatening situations, call Triple Zero (000).
